Are Hook and Loop Ties Reusable?

Yes! While typical, plastic zip ties are only single-use, our nylon hook and loop cable ties are reusable for hundreds of “cycles”. 

What is a hook and loop cycle?

A “cycle” simply means the opening and closing process of a hook and loop fastener. For example, our hook and loop cable ties can be cycled hundreds of times, which is what makes them reusable cable ties.

Do I need a Hook & Loop Cable Tie or a Hook & Loop Cinch Strap?

The hook and loop standard cable ties are different from hook and loop cinch straps because the cable tie design features hook material on one side and loop material on the other. This double-sided material allows the user to wrap the cable tie around an object or bundle of wires, and then lap the cable tie onto itself for a secure hold.  Users may also wrap the cable tie with the hook section facing inside or outside.

Alternatively, SPEEDWRAP® Brand and VELCRO® Brand Cinch Straps feature hooks along one section of the strap, sewn or welded to a loop section and they feature a buckle. Cinch straps do not adhere to themselves along their entire length, and therefore, users need to purchase the appropriate size cinch straps for their application. If your application calls for ‘cinching’ down on objects, wires or cables we recommend you learn more about cinch straps.
